Why aren't they advertised more ahead of time? I mean, I'm glad I didn't go ahead and pre-order this time around , but I have to say, I'm baffled by this trend.

Warner Brothers has been working fervently to campaign for The Dark Knight and Heath Ledger for Oscar Nominations. This poster=probably the coolest thing ever.

Warner Bros has publicly begun its push with this Variety advertisement for Heath Ledger in The Dark Knight for a Best Supporting Actor nomination. Academy Award ballots are mailed on December 26th, polls close on January 12th, and the nominations are announced on January 22nd.

He will have to contend with Michael Shannon in Revolutionary Road, Philip Seymour Hoffman in Doubt, John Malkovich in Changeling, Ralph Fiennes in Duchess, John Malkovich and Brad Pitt in Burn After Reading and Robert Downey, Jr. in Tropic Thunder. Will the Academy recognize an outstanding performance in a “comic book movie”?

Oh my oh my. This is a glorious, glorious poster. It's not real, just a fan made poster. But still, it's great without giving anything away. Lots of great hints, really clever. Love it.

Interviews: Gary Oldman

Gary Oldman is back for his second turn as Lt. Jim Gordon in The Dark Knight and this time his character is given a lot more to do and when asked, Gary isn't afraid to admit he loved the expanded role. He also talks about how great it is working with director Chris Nolan, he gives heartfelt comments regarding Heath Ledger and lets us in a little bit on his future projects.

How was it stepping back into character, especially considering you were given so much more to do in this one?

Gary Oldman: Yeah, it was very nice of Chris Nolan to write me such a good part. It was great to come back because I really enjoyed working on the first one. I was just actually saying that [Chris] doesn't shout, he doesn't scream, I've never seen him be rude to anyone. He's really sort of a nice guy to be around, and you finish and you get home for dinner. You can put the kids to bed. He doesn't want to work for 17 hours... He's not a lunatic that wants to work, you know what I mean? [No] shouting and screaming at people.

Character Study: The Joker

When the movie The Dark Knight opens Thursday at midnight, thousands of people will be haunted by the late Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker.

Before he died, Ledger told reporters that it took a ton of energy to play the role, but that it was the most fun he ever had.

"It was one of those moments where I was asked if I'd be interested in playing The Joker, and I knew five seconds later exactly how to play it," he said.
